The Psaros Center for Financial Markets & Policywas founded in the immediate aftermath of the 2008 economic crash. The collapse and bankruptcy filing of Lehman Brothers, followed by the precipitous market crash, uncertainty across major global financial institutions, and subsequent government bailouts, showed a clear need for unbiased dialogue among market professionals, scholars, and policymakers. The Psaros Center's founding principle was to give a voice to the financial markets and create an ongoing dialogue for the good of industry practices and policy.
Job Overview
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator provides strategic and operational support for the development and implementation of the Psaros Center's marketing and communications plan. The maintain connections with reporters that cover financial markets and financial policy - and with other organizations such as think tanks and financial policymaking organizations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administering timely dissemination of thought leadership produced by the Center, Faculty Associates, and Visiting Fellows
Maintaining the website and social media handles of the Center and its leadership
Supporting both in-person and virtual events
Providing administrative support in the day-to-day operations
Work Interactions
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator interacts with the staff within the Psaros Center, as well as the Office of Marketing and Communications, members of the University staff, outside speakers, and advisors to the Center.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business administration, finance, or public policy or related area.
Relevant professional experience with financial media in DC and/or NYC
Experience with website maintenance, social media, and relevant software
Preferred qualification
Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
